I’m an F1 in an anaesthetics post with future aspirations to apply for ACCS Anaesthetics training. Unfortunately, there is no funding or study leave available for FY1 doctors to attend conferences to present work however with application for training both competitive and required early in the F2 year, this leaves little time to polish the CV. NAPGET were very generous and were able to assist with funding which gave me the opportunity to attend and present my poster on the haemodynamic stability of ketamine pre-hospital emergency anaesthesia following return of spontaneous circulation after a ‘medical’ cardiac arrest at the RCEM annual scientific conference.
The support is greatly appreciated and also highlights what a fantastic and supportive specialty anaesthesia is. Thank you!
